Breast symptoms
The majority of patients presenting to the breast clinic with above mentioned symptoms have entirely benign cause for their symptoms. But it is prudent to check and assess any new breast symptom.
Patients are assessed in the clinic, and they have tests like ultrasound, digital mammogram, biopsies, cyst aspirations etc at the same time.
If patients are diagnosed with any benign or malignant pathology, then the most appropriate further investigations and treatment options are discussed.
The clinics also benefit from a team of specialists and breast care nurses who are involved in the management.
The most common symptoms are:
- Breast pain
- Lump
- Nodularity
- Change of contour/indentation/change of shape of the breast
• Indrawing/inversion/ flattening of nipple
• Nipple discharge
• Itching/ skin rash
• Family history of breast cancer
• Breast Screening
